Dr Marie Chabbert is a Research Fellow attached to St John's College. Her research sits at a disciplinary crossing point, between French Studies, Philosophy, and Religious Studies. She will be sharing some of her work at the Inter-Religious Relations seminar during Lent term.
Dr Chabbert is also an Interfaith Ambassador for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) and United Nations Office for Counter-Terrorism (UNOCT). In February 2022, she will be travelling to the UN Headquarters in New York to meet with 17 other young adults from across Europe and the Middle-East, each chosen to serve as UN Interfaith Ambassadors.
Together, they will hold a 2-day international symposium (17-18 February 2022) celebrating the UN’s newest interfaith initiative: the EDIN programme, Empowering Dialogue & Interfaith Networks. EDIN brings together Young Religious Leader and Media Makers from Europe and the Middle East to fight hate speech and interreligious violence online.
Examples of the work in progress are available on the dedicated website: edin.uncct.unaoc.org
Cambridge Interfaith Programme is pleased to share news of Dr Chabbert's involvement, and will ask her to report back following this event.
