On Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 June 2022, Cambridge Interfaith Programme hosted the first workshop in a series funded by the Cambridge DAAD Research Hub:
Entangled otherings: racism, solidarity, identity
Entangled and disentangled otherings is a collaboration between Cambridge Interfaith Programme, the Centre for Research on Antisemitism at the Technical University in Berlin, Birkbeck Institute for the Study of Antisemitism (London), and the Department of German Studies at Indiana University, Bloomington. The concept and call for papers were developed by CIP Academic Director Professor Esra Özyürek jointly with Stefanie Springorum, David Feldman and Irit Dekel. The call built upon previous conversation, including a workshop on critical perspectives on the relationship of Antisemitism and racism, held at Seminarhaus Gut Siggen in June 2021.
In addition to the involvement of the local DAAD Research Hub (supporting German Studies with funds from the German Federal Foreign Office), this event was co-sponsored by a British Academy research grant. We were pleased to welcome a number of funded early career academics as observers, alongside the named speakers.
Further workshops should take place in 2023 and 2024.
