On 19 February 2022, the first Scriptural Reasoning Workshop for Lecturers in Indonesia was organized by Dr Andreas Jonathan, an alumnus of Cambridge Interfaith Programme Academic Summer School and Director of the Centre for Religion and Peace Studies at Immanuel Christian University (UKRIM) Yogyakarta Indonesia.

The online workshop was arranged in collaboration with Cambridge Interfaith Programme, and supported by LSQH Universitas Islam Negri (UIN) Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta Indonesia.

Mr Owen D. May, MATM, from the Carlisle-based Rose Castle Foundation, was the main facilitator. 15 Muslim and Christian lecturers participated, from all over Indonesia.

Dr Jonathan’s aim was to open a new chapter for inter-religious peace building and interfaith dialogue in Indonesia. By introducing these strategic leaders to Scriptural Reasoning, the technique can be developed further in education institutions and religious communities across the region.
