Interested in intersections of food & faith? 

Join Esra Ozyurek, Anastasia Badder, Stefan Williamson Fa & Heather Sharkey to discuss research and potential collaboration in this domain of material encounter.

This event will be moderated by Professor Ozyurek and includes:

  • An introductory reflection from Dr Badder, based on CIP's previous work in the domain of materiality and inter-religious encounter (and with reference to water);
  • An opportunity for all attending to speak briefly about their interests in this domain;
  • A short talk from Professor Sharkey (visiting for the day) about her current work on food in Arab culture);
  • A response from Dr Williamson Fa (with reference to his own work on foodways);
  • Opportunity to network;
  • A focused moment to agree follow-up actions including any necessary steps to advance future collaboration.

Attendees are also welcome to adjourn to Selwyn College for lunch following this session.
