Cambridge Interfaith Programme

Composite with Marietta and book

The Cambridge Interfaith Programme is pleased to promote an event from the Darwin Society for Research on Politics, Democracy and Populism (DarDePoP), celebrating the publication of Dr Marietta van der Tol's new book.

As explained in our recent news story, Constitutional Intolerance: The Fashioning of the Other in Europe’s Constitutional Repertoires draws examples from France, the Netherlands, Hungary and Poland to illustrate the author’s key point: vulnerability towards intolerance is inscribed in the structures of the law.

A sociable launch

The event will start with a short introduction to the Darwin Society for Research on Politics, Democracy and Populism (DarDePoP) and to Mariettaher academic background and career, her research focus, her book and its relevance in our current political situation.

Marietta will deliver a half-hour presentation followed by Q&A (featuring a few questions prepared by DarDePoP members). Attendees will have the opportunity for further discussion with the speaker and society members as well as the chance to buy a signed copy of Marietta’s book for a reduced price (30% discount).

Light refreshments will be available.

Please register at the link below. Your information will be held by DarDePoP to inform arrangements for this event.

Not in Cambridge?

CIP intends to host a further event about Marietta's work this autumn.

The book is available to purchase from Cambridge University Press and in bookstores. Read more about this book.
