Cambridge Interfaith Programme

Come delve into scripture this November! CIP is very excited to be working with the British Museum's pioneering new exhibition - 'Egypt: faith after the Pharaohs' - to deliver two Scriptural Reasoning workshops.

The exhibition brings together a remarkable collection of objects from one of the most fascinating periods in Egypt's history, 30 BC to AD 1171. These objects, many on display for the first time, provide "unparalleled access to the lives of individuals and communities, and they tell a rich and complex story of influences, long periods of peaceful coexistence, and intermittent tension and violence between Jews, Christians and Muslims."

In connection with this story, and as part of Inter-faith Week, CIP's Scriptural Reasoning workshops will delve into passages from Jewish, Christian and Muslim scriptures, exploring the texts and their interpretations across faith boundaries. The first will centre on the theme of 'Changing Landscapes'; the second will explore 'Pilgrimage'.

The workshops will be held in the museum, are completely free and open to all of any or no faith. We’d love to see as many people there as possible – and if you’ve yet to try Scriptural Reasoning, now’s your chance!
